Creation

“Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” – Genesis 2:7 ESV

Viewpoint: Saudis have a creation story that differs from the biblical narrative of creation. Saudis don’t see humans having a relationship with God. They see God as a distant creator who rules over them and decides what happens to them based on the good that they do. Saudis don’t understand that it is their sin that separates them from God. They believe that they must perform the five pillars of Islam for it to be possible that their good works will be enough to get them into heaven. However, for a Saudi, heaven does not mean a return to living in the presence of God; He will continue to remain far away from them. They don’t have the assurance that followers of Jesus have that because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, we know that we will be with God in Heaven one day.

Prayer points: Please pray that believers in KSA will have opportunities to share the creation story and show how we have a relationship with God to Saudis. Pray that Saudis will hear this story with open ears and hearts and seek to know God.
