Thanksgiving 2022

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV

Viewpoint: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people…This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.” –1 Tim. 2:1-6

Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends to gather and share a meal. More importantly, it is a time to reflect on how God has loved, blessed, and provided for us, a time to thank God for all He has done in our lives. As followers of Christ, we recognize that our greatest blessing is a right relationship with God through Jesus. However, there are still billions of people around the world, including the people of Saudi Arabia, who don’t believe that Jesus is God incarnate, who died and rose again to give us a right relationship with God. There are many Saudis living, working, and studying in the US. Most have heard of Thanksgiving, but few have experienced it. As you are going about your Thanksgiving preparations this week, would you consider reaching out to someone who doesn’t know Jesus?

Prayer points:

Please pray that American believers will share their Thanksgiving celebrations with Saudis, as well as share Christ’s love and truth.

Pray that soon, all Saudis will have a clear opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel.
