National Day

Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns.’ – Revelation 19:6 ESV

Viewpoint: On September 23, Saudi Arabia will celebrate its National Day for the 16th year in a row. KSA became a country in 1932, but National Day only recently became an official holiday. All KSA celebrates National Day with folk dances, songs, and traditional festivals. Saudi flags decorate everything. The atmosphere is a little like Independence Day in the US.

As Saudis partake in this earthly celebration, many Saudis do not know of the heavenly celebration that will take place in the future because of Jesus’ saving work: “Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns.’” (Revelation 19:6 ESV) As Saudi Arabia continues to change, ask that its people be more open than before to hear and accept the Gospel.

Prayer points: Pray that during National Day celebrations all over Saudi Arabia, believers will have opportunities to share with their Saudi friends and relatives about the heavenly celebration that will take place because of Jesus’ victory over sin and death.
