What is Christmas?

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.-John 1:14

Viewpoint:

Growing up, Eman never heard the Gospel of Jesus. Eman now has a friend who is a follower of Jesus; she has been asking her friend some questions about Christmas. Like “Why do Christians put up trees and decorate them?” or “Why do Christians celebrate Jesus’ birth? After all, he is just a prophet like our prophet.”  Or “Why do Christians believe that Jesus was born just to die?” And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. –John 1:14. Many Muslims view God as so beyond man that He would never lower Himself to take on flesh and live on earth. At Christmas, we celebrate the Incarnation our Muslim friends see as impossible. We hope to tell many about the reason for our celebration. Yet only God can open their hearts to the truth of the Word made flesh and their need for His saving work through Christ.

Prayer Points:

Please pray that as believers prepare for Christmas, they will have many opportunities to tell Saudi friends about why they celebrate Christmas.

Ask God to powerfully reveal His glory and truth to many Saudis and draw them to Himself.
